Day 252 – 6/12/24

Starting location: Moored at Cortland Yacht Club Marina, Montrose, NY

Weather: 54 am, 76pm, sunny then increasingly overcast

Ending location: Mills-Norrie State Park Marina, near Norrie Heights, NY

Statute miles: 44

General summary: Tom found a State Park via an internet search (not seen via Waterways app) on our way that had a marina that accepts transient boaters. We reserved a slip on line with no problem. Motored on from Montrose and passed West Point to our port side. Landscape is becoming more mountainous with deeper water, having been carved out by glaciers years ago. Found the marina and got settled uneventfully. The vast majority of slips were for boats in the 20-30 foot range, though there was T dock with one 40ish foot looper boat whose inhabitants never acknowledged our existence. Quiet and restful night.

happy boating. We are back from Spokane. Frank is renting a senior assisted apartment. He hasn’t moved in yet but hopefully soon. I try to call him once a day to see how things are going.

Looking forward to these blogs. You are good boating troopers. Love the pictures.

    Love,

The photo of West Point was cool! I have never been there in person.
