Starting location: Rose Marina, Marco Island, FL
Weather: Mid 60s am, low 70s pm. Rain on and off until afternoon, then partly sunny.
Ending location: Anchorage by Panther Key in the Ten Thousand Islands area of Southwestern FL, just North Everglades National Park
Statute miles: Approximately 15
General summary: Motored out of Factory Bay on Marco Island and followed the inside channel South until it exited into the Gulf. We were able to stay about a mile off shore in stable 6 feet of water to the anchorage with almost no winds so nearly smooth water. This is a spot with a long stretch of sandy beach at the West ends of many mangrove encircled islands. Well protected except for West winds, which were not predicted to occur in the near future. There were several small boats anchored or beached, tents on land, and a collection of canoes. An excursion pontoon boat, as well, that left in the evening. We did a few beach walks. Watched a sunset in the evening.

***We head to Everglades City, FL on 6/20. Will likely be there for a few days, possibly a week, awaiting another weather window for further travel South. Will do a multi-day post as we leave. Don’t worry, then, if we are silent for a bit.
What was fixed: Torqueedo works agsin, thanks to CRC Marine QD Electronic Cleaner that was purchased at West Marine on Marco Island (and Tom’s handyman expertise). 😃
