Days 86-87 – 12/28-29/23

Starting location: Mar Marina, Tarpon Springs, FL

Weather: Thursday 12/28 – mid 50s am to mid 60s pm. Rain overnight until mid morning, then partly sunny. Friday 12/29 – upper 50s all day, mostly sunny.

Ending location: Tarpon Springs Municipal Marina, Tarpon Springs, FL. Off ICW. East on Anclote River.

Statute miles: 1.2

General summary: Rained overnight after arrival, so got another good boat wash after previous day’s travel. Took a walk around the marina and surrounding streets in the morning. Not much to note here – mostly residential homes (both palatial on the waterfront and small boxes inland) and some commercial boating businesses. We had wanted to get closer to downtown Tarpon Springs, but there was nothing open at those marinas for a bit. Reasonably well-appointed marina here, though. Did LOTS of laundry.

Tom had made a really delicious jambalaya before we left Crystal River, with bay shrimp from a local seafood dealer. Had leftovers for dinner. 😋

Jambalaya

I think this is my favorite boat meal so far. He used this seasoning:

No offense, Mom!

Blackened grouper is my next favorite. Then pizza on the grill. Oh, and there was lamb stew, pot roast, and nachos. I’m so lucky to have married a fantastic cook! 😘 So far, I’ve done chicken pot pie in the Omnia and lasagne in the instant pot. Plus many sandwiches and salads.

Boater information: Mar Marina employees were super dog- friendly. Bathroom, showers, and pump-out available. No gas. Haul out for many sized boats and very busy boatyard

Still in Spokane and enjoying sunny and rather mild weather. Saw Frank on Christmas day. We are returning to home on Tuesday. Mary and her husband Joe are here. Mary’s doing a radiology stint evenings at Deaconess. We return to Camas on Tues.
Love keeping up with your advetures. No snow in sight here but it’s sunny and cold. Love and prayers to the three of you.

ALL of that food – to this notoriously picky eater – sounds amazing.
Is Tom bringing home an extra can of the Slap?
