General summary: Usual morning at anchorage, then motored to marina. Winds were picking up slightly, but from the West so waves on our stern, which makes for the least choppy ride (other than flat calm) and helped push us forward a bit. Got gas and then tied up in nicely sheltered slip. This stop is fairly utilitarian for us and there isn’t much to do, tourist-wise, other than fishing charters. This marina has a super busy boatyard. Lots of hoisting out, sanding, and mechanical work going on.

A nice man stopped by in the evening and introduced himself as a Harbor Host in this town and asked if we could use a ride anywhere or needed anything. We exchanged boat cards, of course, as we Loopers do. He’d been following us on the Nebo app and wanted to check us out as well. Seems like our relatively small boat is a bit of a curiosity. (We’ve heard “you’re doing the loop in THAT” from a few…). The vast majority of Looper boats are 35-45 feet, it seems.
According to the AGLCA web site:
“What is a Harbor Host?
Harbor Hosts are volunteers who lend a helping hand to other Loopers as they pass through their home ports. Members in need of local knowledge or assistance, or who just want to say hello to a Harbor Host on their way through, reach out via phone or email. Harbor Hosts provide advice and information on local services and things to see and do. Some go above and beyond by offering rides for provisioning, or will meet you at a marina to enjoy Docktails. Many Harbor Hosts have also provided written Harbor Guides about their areas. Please don’t hesitate to contact a Harbor Host. They are waiting for your call or email!”
Tom’s dental appointment went well and we are good to continue moving on tomorrow.
What was fixed:

Boater information: Two Georges Marina has gas, pump out, showers, bathrooms. No laundry. Piers for tie up. Small dog relief area. Can walk to restaurants and grocery. Likely a good spot to get stuff fixed.
