Starting location: Pebble Island, TN
Weather: Overcast in am, sunny high 70s in afternoon.
Ending location: Birdsong Marina, TN. Near MM 104 on Tennessee River.
Statute miles: Approximately 8
General summary: Very calm night inside large protected cove. Didn’t need any marina services so nice to save a little money on free anchorage. Took dinghy to shore and did 4 mile hike with many Civil War displays. I always find it hard to wrap my mind around being places where hardships were endured. I kept picturing soldiers running through the woods with battles ensuing around them in the very spot we were traipsing along.
On the short motor to our next destination, I realized the trees are less vibrant, turning color later as we head South to warmer weather. Tortuous, somewhat shallow 2 mile trip into creek to marina. Very friendly marina owner and staff.

Boater information:

Birdsong Marina does not go through Dockwa. You can call to reserve, but you also need to fill out an on-line reservation on their web site.
Trail has sections where trees have been harvested and trail bulldozed. Blazes are gone in these sections. All trails app, again, very helpful.
