General summary: As we continued South the days were becoming hotter and muggier. As a result, we decided to spend two nights at a marina with a pool. The high temps each day were predicted to reach over 95 degrees.

A few weeks prior a couple we had connected with several times along the way, who had finished their loop and lived relatively close, got in touch. They had been monitoring Nebo and noted our approach, so offered to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed their company, pool swims, and a shared dinner at the marina restaurant. So great to catch up!

Immediately after John and Kim headed home a severe thunderstorm hit with pelting rain then increasingly frequent lightning strikes nearby. There was near constant lightning for about an hour before things calmed. The good news was the evening temperature dropped by about 10 degrees so sleeping was more comfortable.
