Ending location: Anchored at “The Pool” at Northeast end of Baie Fine Channel, North of Killarney, Ontario, Canada.

Statute miles: 25, then 0 until departure

General summary: We motored on to explore the channel Baie Fine (pronounced Bay Finn) past small white Fjord-like cliffs to the very end of that waterway, where there was a 90 degree hook nicknamed “The Pool”. The name is for its typically flat water as it is well protected from winds and waves. As there is little water movement, it also has a lot of seagrass growing from the bottom, which sometimes makes it difficult setting an anchor well. We did have to reset once while there, so can verify this is true. The anchor came up matted with green tendrils and we bent our boat hook in half teasing them off. There were some nice hikes, so we spent two nights.

Changing scenery. Limestone cliffs.
Part of Killarney Provincial Park.
First hike to a mountaintop lake called Topaz Lake. A loon was sitting in the middle vocalizing.
Cocoa and I resting at Topaz Lake for a bit.
Second hike
Riding dinghy back from hike
Not our anchor, but an example
