Day 301 – 7/31/24

Starting location: Moored at docks at Henry’s Fish Restaurant on Frying Pan Island in 30,000 islands area of Northern Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada

Weather: 68 am, 80 pm, cloudy, drizzle off and on, then sunny in afternoon

Ending location: Moored in Big Sound Marina, Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada

Statute miles: 15

General summary: Time for another oil change and major provisioning stop. Parry Sound is the last place to do this until Saul St. Marie, near the end of our Canada explorations, or in Michigan once back in the US. There are small grocery stores ahead, but their selections will likely be limited. The service department was able to fit us in surprisingly quickly at Parry Sound Marina. Similar small craft channel to get there. We walked to the grocery store while they were doing the service efficiently, then moved to Big Sound Marina for the night. Walked about town and checked out a wonderful used books store and had Caribbean food from a local food cart for dinner. Got tasty pastries from Dent Bay Baking Company. There was a nice local hike that followed the waterfront as well.

Busy Parry Sound
Great local used books store
Great waterfront trail
