General summary:
Taking advantage of the cooler morning again, we did a 3+ mile hike.

We had decided to bypass Burlington as we’d both been there before. Pulled up anchor and motored North over the US/Canadian border. We had been instructed to tie off at the customs dock, located on our port side less than a mile after crossing, and check in. The customs officers asked us the usual questions (why are you here?, how long do you plan to stay?, anything to declare?, any firearms?) then stamped our passports (they don’t give you a registration number here) and we were allowed to continue on.
We stopped for the night just before the end (really the start, for us) of the Chambly Canal. We had previously purchased a locking pass and mooring pass for the season and so now affixed them to our center windshield. There are numerous canal systems in Quebec and Ontario and these cover the cost of locking through and also for staying overnight at various docks and walls along the way. You can’t reserve a spot, but once you confirm your arrival at a spot with the lock operator, you can stay.

Found a great stop just across the road for ice cream. Nice treat before bedtime.
