General summary: Spent the morning, since it was the cooler part of the day, exploring Valcour Island. Historically significant area due to a naval battle in 1776, led by Benedict Arnold, defending the associated strait from British forces.
Hiked the 6+ mile perimeter and saw the sights.

After lunch, we motored on to a marina in Plattsburgh to get gas. While there, a thunderstorm passed through and they let us tie up to the restaurant dock for free until it passed. The restaurant was closed for the day, so there was no one there anyway, but very nice of them to let us use it.
As the storm moved on and the winds calmed, we motored to our next anchorage and found a protected spot near a boat ramp and sandy beach. Aside from a few boats launching and pulling out during the day, we had it to ourselves. Sun came back out and temperature increased again, so we both went swimming twice off the swim platform. Tom made pizza on the grill for dinner. ๐
