Day 216 – 5/7/24

Starting location: Anchorage on Mill Creek on the SouthWest side of the Patuxent River by Myrtle Point Park, MD.

Weather: 62 am, 75 pm, cloudy to mostly sunny

Ending location: Moored at DiMillo’s Marina, Oxford, MD.

Statute miles: 42

General summary: As we motored East out of the Patuxent and back out into the Bay, we passed orange cliffs known as the Calvert Cliffs. These were formed in layers over millions of years as water flooded and receded with Ice Ages. There is a state park here and you can hunt for fossils on a paleontology tour.

Calvert Cliffs

We crossed the Bay into the Choptank River and moored in a marina in the town of Oxford. Wandered about town. Unfortunately the highly anticipated Scottish Highland Creamery was closed until Thursday.
