Day 210 – 5/1/24

Starting location: Moored at Onancock Wharf and Marina, Onancock, VA.

Weather: 62 am, 72 pm, sunny.

Ending location: Moored in Somers Cove Marina, Crisfield, MD.

Statute miles: 20

General summary: We motored back North a bit and crossed the state line into Maryland. My old home state! Tied up to the transient dock in the large marina in Crisfield, MD. Super helpful dockhands. The marina was well organized and appointed. Has a pool, even, though it was still covered. This town, however, has seen better days. We visited a small but informative museum and then tried to find what was listed as the historic district (maybe it was one square block). Nearly all the businesses downtown have shuttered except for a few waterfront restaurants (only open on weekends) and thrifty shops. The marina is next to a large section of government housing. This area was once bustling with oyster and crab harvesting and canning. They apparently have a rockin’ Blues Festival in mid June. Maybe things are busier in the summer.
