General summary: Motored East into Charleston Harbor, which was still somewhat choppy even with improved wind conditions, but water flattened nicely as we turned North into the ICW. The seagrass lined channel was narrow and snaked around many sandy islands with the Atlantic Ocean on the Eastern side. Some surprising areas of shoaling to 4 feet at low tide where it should have been at least 9. No problem for us, but we saw several boats nearly ground out.
Turned West into Jeremy Creek and our marina was about 1/2 mile in. Very friendly and helpful dockhand. Numerous working boats around as there was close access to the Atlantic Ocean for fishing.

Happy to find that this town is super dog friendly. No leash laws, so we could let Cocoa roam independently when we felt it was safe to do so.

Walked into town Saturday morning and there was a farmers market by the middle school where local produce was being sold. Bought blue cheese, strawberries, and some veggies.
Checked out the 1000 year old oak tree at the park.

Walked to a seafood shop to buy freshly caught local shrimp.

Had soft shell crab for lunch from T W Graham and Company Restaurant (“since 1894”) 😋.

Tom made shrimp & gravy (SC specially, recipe from internet) for dinner. Yum!

Boater information: Leiland Oil Company Marina was a great stop. Very low key town and super friendly townsfolk. Down a creek with a little current, but not bad. Long floating wooden dock in good condition. Side tie. Dockhand available to help. No significant wake issues as this is a no wake area. Cheap gas with cash or check, more expensive using credit – diesel and regular. Dockside power and water. Bathroom with shower at marina office. Free laundry! (One washer & dryer.) Two free loaner bicycles. There is a Dollar General about 1.5 miles away.
