Day 178 – 3/30/24

Starting location: Savannah, GA

Weather: Mid 50s am, mid 70s pm, mostly sunny

Ending location: Anchorage by Pinckney Island, SC. Just West of MM 553 AICW.

Statute miles: 23

General summary: It seems strange to be exiting the state of Georgia after only 8 days, considering we were in the state of Florida for four months. Georgia is large, but the coastline is only 100 miles long, so limited access via boat.

We found an anchorage that was reportedly protected, peaceful, good shore access, and with trails. We were the first to anchor so got a choice spot. About 6 other boats anchored later, some playing loud music, but all left by evening and we had the place to ourselves. Did a hike on land each day.

Several good hikes
Interior pond
Dinghy back to boat

Boater information:

West of Hilton Head
We anchored right at icon in 12 feet at high tide. Would not go closer to shore due to oyster beds.
