Days 149 – 3/1/24

Starting location: Boynton Harbor Marina. Boynton Beach, FL.

Weather: Low 60s am, mid 70d pm. Slight rain in am, sunny pm.

Ending location: Anchorage in Hobe Sound, FL. MM 1000 AICW.

Statute miles: Approximately 35

General summary: As we did research about going further North, it appeared there were finally great anchorages coming up – protected from weather and ICW wake, not likely crowded with other boats, surrounded or partially surrounded by nature, options for a land break, with predicted good holding and good depths. We bid goodbye to Boynton Harbor Marina and motored to Hobe Sound. Just what we were looking for. 7 feet deep with wide swinging room with just one neighboring sailboat, protected from South winds, some sandy beaches among mangroves within easy dinghy range. I neglected to get a photo. Here’s one of Cocoa’s recent haircut. Needed shorter hair to be more comfortable as heat and humidity are slowly increasing as we approach springtime here.
