Day 144 – 2/25/24

Starting location: Sands Harbor Resort and Marina. Pompano, FL.

General summary: One of the things on my wish list for this trip was to go to Universal Studios and possibly Disneyland in Orlando sometime while we were motoring around Florida. This was not one of Tom’s preferences, so I made plans with my sister-in-law to go this week, since that worked with her schedule. We are both huge Harry Potter fans. I figured we’d be reasonably close to Orlando by now or I could get transportation from wherever we ended up. As a result, Tom and I made a 5 night booking at Boynton Harbor Marina and we will do our own separate things for this brief time period. We motored up the ICW this morning, cruising under numerous bridges (only one had to lift for us, yay for a small boat again!). Tied up in slip at the marina, which appears to be an active place on the weekends.

I packed my stuff and got an uber to the Brightline train station in West Palm Beach. This is a new high speed train that runs from Miami to Orlando and back. Just started this summer. Very timely and smooth ride.

What broke: Wallas stove & heater

Stove shut off and started smoking while boiling water for coffee this morning.

Boater information: Boynton Harbor Marina has gas, power, water, bathrooms, restaurants. Shopping within walking distance.
