Starting location: Anchorage at Northwest side of Indian Key, near entrance of Indian Key Pass to Everglades City, FL
Weather: 70 am, 78 pm, sun breaks
Ending location: Approximately 50
Statute miles: Anchorage off West side of Middle Cape near Cape Sable, Southwestern tip of Florida
General summary: Water looked reasonably calm in the morning, so we pulled up anchor and motored. Long day and some periods of less comfortable chop, but made it to our desired anchorage. Waves appeared to be coming from South and wind from East, so we got as close to land as possible to block both. By evening, was calm and water flattened. Warned of gators in this area and advised to look for “slides” or paths worn in beach from gator bellies as they move to and from water and land. No slides or gators, but kept Cocoa on leash, just in case. Otherwise nice sandy beach walks. Warm and humid night. Screens mostly kept mosquitoes at bay.

Boater information:

Anchored in 7 feet and was 3 feet by morning, so would need to be out further if you have a larger draft.
