Day 64 – 12/6/23

Starting location: Two Georges Marina, Shalimar, FL

Weather: 47 am. Partly cloudy. Low 60s pm. Mostly sunny.

Ending location: Anchored in Smack Bayou, FL. Off GICW MM 225 EHL

Statute miles: Approximately 60

General summary: Wind was from the North, so quite a choppy ride in Choctawhatchee Bay. As soon as we got into the narrow channel approaching Port Washington on starboard it was smooth as glass. Then, upon exiting the channel and entering Grand Lagoon on the way to pass Panama City, the chop returned, but less intense. Turned into Smack Bayou and found a very nice protected spot to anchor for the night. Narrow sandy spit within dinghy rowing range for Cocoa’s needs. Saw a dolphin cruising around the boats in the evening. Hard to get a picture as you never know when and where they will pop up. Calm and quiet night.
