Day 43 – 11/15/23

Starting location: Kingfisher Bay Marina, AL

Weather: 51am, drizzle. Low 70s pm. Rain overnight.

Ending location: Anchorage in Bashi Creek, AL. MM 145 on the Ten-Tom

Statute miles: 72

General summary: Passed through Demopolis lock easily at 8am with 5 other boats. One more lock to go and we’ll be done with them until New York locks and will be in salt water until then! Can stop thinking about locks but then need to start paying attention to currents, tidal shifts, and waves. Easy motoring to anchorage.

Taking turns
Beautiful anchorage

Boater information:

Narrow but reasonably deep in Bashi Creek. Watch out for fallen trees in water and overhanging canopy. Really great for smaller boats. Medium boats (35-45 feet) needed shore ties. Larger boats should probably go elsewhere as limited turning room. Boat ramp was great for dog relief and there was a nice walk on shore.

Anchored on blue dot.
