Starting location: Clarksville, TN
Weather: Chilly night in upper 40s, light fog in morning. Sunny, 70s in afternoon.
Ending location: Land Between the Lakes State Park, in water area of Wildlife refuge near Honker Lake, KY
Statute miles: Approx 75
General summary: Left Clarksville Marina and motored with the intent to anchor. Passed lots of barges today. Fall colors continue to mature. Found a different spot back in Land Between the Lakes State Park that looked promising for anchorage, but had to wind around slowly with shallow areas on both sides to get to it. As we pulled up to a spot and started to drop anchor there was a startling display of large fish jumping high out of the water in a synchronous show in front of the boat. Wish we could have taken a video but we had to stay focused. Anchored in 5 feet with good swinging room. Found out later the fish are Asian Carp.
Boater information:
We found a nice spot on the West side of Lake Barkley between MM 53 and 54 across from Motley Creek just North of Honker Lake. You just have to snake your way in and watch depths closely.
